We don’t have to work for our righteousness. This is what Paul was saying in Romans 4:1-3, “What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.” Somehow we’ve gotten off track. We may say “Yes, we are saved by grace" and yet we have to work to become righteous. This is not a process for us to work out. It is, rather, a part of our salvation. We are made righteous through our believing and receiving Christ. Once we have corrected our mindset, we can now live our lives from that perspective. No longer being led or controlled by our carnality. No longer needing to be concerned with whether God accepts us or not. You and I have been made righteous through Christ.
