The Power of Grace

By Pastor Eric

Grace is the connector between us and God, the Father. His grace flowed through Christ so that we could obtain a better covenant. Ephesians 2:8, 9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”  It is the free gift from God and we cannot do anything of our own strength to get it. We simply receive.

Let’s be clear, grace is not a free ticket to a sinful, sin-filled life. It is the power of grace that pulls us from it, not leads us to it.

In John 1:17 it says, “For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.”

Now moving forward, we can understand that this great grace has been given us to empower us towards a better life. A life full, and overflowing. Check out John 10:10 in the Amplified Bible sometime.

Paul, one of the most powerful men to walk this earth, when speaking of his ministry said this. 1Corinthians 15:10 “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” Though he was speaking of his work, he made it clear that it wasn’t in his power, but the power of God by grace.

We are enabled to tap into this grace-power through our faith. We use our faith with purpose to show the grace of God in us to the world.  1Peter 4:10 “As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”

Occasionally Pastors Eric and Laura will write as the Lord leads them. There may be prophetic words or insights and revelation that have come to them. They share these with the intention that someone would be blessed and encouraged or admonished, something we all need once in a while.
