Don't Quit Now!

Have you ever been in a place or situation where you’ve been pushed right to the edge? When it looks like there is no answer? I have, honestly! The thing is, when we reach that point of wanting to give up, that’s when we need to labor to enter His rest!

Hebrews 4:10, 11 “For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.” This contrary to our carnal or lower nature thinking. This is why we must renew our minds! It really doesn’t make a lot of sense to just rest when there are circumstances and pressure coming at us, but this is how the Kingdom functions. We are not of this world. We are citizens of God’s Kingdom deployed here on earth.

Sometimes we need encouragement. There are days when it seems like insurmountable odds are against you. What do you do when it feels like the whole world is against you? Your spouse doesn’t seem to understand. Your kids acting crazy. Even the dog doesn’t like you… What do you do? My answer is always, “What does the Word say?”

Look at David, King of Israel. The entire nation was mad at him. In 1Samuel 30:6 “And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.”  They wanted to kill him and he was greatly distressed. The Voice Bible uses the word anguished. Have you ever felt that way? Your emotions controlling you to a point of exhaustion, just ready to give up and quit. Notice David didn’t quit! He turned to the Lord!

You’re never alone in life! No matter what it looks like! God tells us in Hebrews 13:5  that He will never leave us or forsake us. The Amplified Bible says …”…for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]”

That is good news to me! God, the Creator of the Universe, said that He would never ever give up on me! Get that down inside you! God will never give up on you! Also, Galatians 6:9 “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Faint not, don’t quit!
