Getting Free From Guilt
By Pastor Eric I have seen over the years many who struggle with feeling guilty or having a guilty conscience. This is contrary to what Christ has done for us through the cross. Some would tell you that you are just an old sinner saved by grace and that your righteousness is filthy rags. Of course, these words are taken out of context and only been handed down over the years because of religious teaching. What does the Word say? A very familiar verse is Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Notice that there is no comma after Jesus. Some would tell you that if you have a moment when your flesh takes over that you are then under condemnation. If you take that thought to the end, you are saying that Christ condemns you one moment and then has grace for you the next and then you are in a constant flux. This is what cripples many Christians today. The term, “who walk not after the flesh,” is a description of who you are, not a condition in which we receive grace. Grace is not conditional! It is the free gift from God! In Colossians 2:10, it says we are complete in Him. The Amplified Bible says it this way, “And you are in Him, made full and having come to fullness of life [in Christ you too are filled with the Godhead—Father, Son and Holy Spirit—and reach full spiritual stature]. And He is the Head of all rule and authority [of every angelic principality and power].” There is nothing lacking in you, nothing! Go on down to verse 14 and you will see that the legal document that said you were guilty of sin has been blotted out, erased. It’s now a blank sheet of paper. In today’s terms, it would be expunged. That is a legal term which means “permanently removed.” There is no book in heaven that has all your good and bad deeds written down, and that it will be read for the whole world to hear, on the Day of Judgment. God did not give you salvation so you could live under fear of guilt and condemnation. He has set you free! Amen! As we continue or adventures in faith, we see our borders, not only widening but being removed. We are looking towards more venues, worldwide radio, internet programming, video and travel. Jesus said to go into ALL the world and preach this Gospel of His Kingdom. We are doing just that. This fall we will be going to Lahore, Pakistan. There is a move of God taking place there and thousands are coming to Christ. Our assignment is to help the pastors become strong in the calling on their lives. We will also be preaching the Word of God with signs following. The people there are hungry for the things of God. These are exciting times. When you partner with us, heaven’s perspective is that you are right there with us. When we preach, you preach, when we lay hands on the sick, so do you. You have an account in heaven that is being filled with the same credit we have. Thank you for allowing us to go and bring in the harvest. Know that Laura and I love you and pray for you every day.
