Dealing With Frustration

Ah, frustration, we all have to deal with it. There are times when it seems as if the whole world is against us, or that nothing seems to be working in our favor. There are times when you may be dealing with things in your business, relationships or when people let you down. Maybe dealing with a health issue? What can you do? 

Let’s look at what David did when it seemed as if he was a complete failure and everyone was turning against him. 1Samuel 30:6 “ And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.” That’s right, he encouraged himself in the Lord. Not in his own strength or power, but in the Lord. 

In Psalm 56:2-4 it says, “Mine enemies would daily swallow me up: for they be many that fight against me, O thou most High. What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.  In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.”  Notice he turned his fear into trust. He made a quality decision to change his outlook. That’s what we must do as well. Stop fearing man and start trusting God! 

 As we continue to put our trust in the Lord, we also begin to praise Him. Praise will set your mind at ease and get your focus on the one who has the answers to your frustration instead of the situation you’re facing. Psalm 16:7,8 “ I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.”

Psalm 62:6 “He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defense; I shall not be moved.” 

Make a decision that you will not be moved by your circumstances, no matter how bleak they may seem and be encouraged by the love of the Father towards you. Don’t allow frustration to have its way!
